The Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat is located in the gated community of Tanarimba in Janda Baik, Pahang. Nestled at over a thousand feet above sea level in the foothills of the Titiwangsa main range, our retreat is an easy drive from the north or south along the scenic Karak Highway.
The drive from central Kuala Lumpur to the Tanarimba entrance via the Karak Highway takes approximately 40 minutes (40km), and another 5 minutes (4km) from the Tanarimba entrance to the retreat. You can use Google Maps or Waze to reach the entrance of Tanarimba by typing “Tanarimba, Jalan Tanarimba Pine”

As Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat is located within the residential enclave of Tanarimba, only authorised vehicles will be allowed entry into Tanarimba by the security personnel at the guard house at Tanarimba entrance. Thus all vehicles carrying guests to the retreat must first be registered with us in advance prior to your arrival to gain entry.
Directions from Kuala Lumpur
- From Kuala Lumpur, take the Duke Highway or the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) and connect to the Karak Highway towards Genting Highlands.
- At about the 33km mark, you will drive through the Genting Sempah tunnel.
- After the tunnel, keep left and take Exit 803 towards Janda Baik. You will drive past the Genting Sempah Rest & Recreation (R&R), Petronas and some food stalls to reach a roundabout. Turn left to head towards Janda Baik.
- After about 4km of winding road, you will reach a junction. Turn right, drive up a steep road and drive through the “Welcome to Janda Baik” wooden arch.
- Follow the signs and approximately 1km later, you will see the Tanarimba entrance on your right.

Via Bukit Tinggi Village

After you drivepast Exit 803, keep left. You will see some apartments including Selesa Hill homes on the left, and Bukit Tinggi Village on the right.

Turn left towards the Kg. Bukit Tinggi/Janda Baik sign.

You will come to a junction shortly. Turn right towards Kg. Bukit Tinggi/Janda Baik and follow the road where you come to another junction.

Turn right towards the Kg. Bukit Tinggi/Janda Baik sign again. Follow the road and drive through the “Kampung Bukit Tinggi Bentung” arch. You will see many restaurants, food stalls leading towards the Bukit Tinggi Village main road (well, it’s just a single road) which curves towards the left.

Drive through the main village center towards the police station.

Once you reach a T-junction at the police station, turn right and then immediately left uphill towards the welcome “Welcome to Janda Baik” wooden arch. Drive through, pass Hutan Lipur Konifer on the left and follow the signs to Tanarimba.

Approximately 1km later, you will see the Tanarimba entrance on your right.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Mobile reception to our retreat from the entrance of Tanarimba is limited. From our experience, only Celcom is accessible, so please plan your journey well and brief the people travelling with you in case communication is affected.
